Emmanuel Mwakera

Youth Advisory Board Chair

Emmanuel Mwakera is a multi-skilled and vibrant youth advocate. He is the pioneer president of the Kilifi County Youth Advisory council which is a framework attached to the County Department of Health to facilitate meaningful engagement in various youth programs. Emmanuel is the chairperson of the national Youth Advisory Board under AMREF- Kenya FAYA project which is a research-oriented project working on comprehensive sexuality education in Kenya. He has been extensively involved in programing aligned to youth and contributed in the development and review of various County policies including the Sexual Reproductive Health/ HIV 2020-2023 strategy.

Mercy Kipngeny

Youth Advisory Board Vice Chair

Mercy Kipngeny is a youth Advocate from Siaya county and the elected YAB vice chair. She champions for meaningful youth engagement in decision and policy making. She graduated from the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and technology with a bachelor’s degree in Public Health. She is currently working as a case management officer in Siaya working with AYPLHIV to achieve VL suppression while championing for the rights of young people as the Vice president of the Siaya youth Advisory Champions for Health.

Leila Abdulkeir Isaak

Youth Advisory Board Secretary

Leila Abdulkeir Isaak is the Deputy president of Kilifi YAC and the founder of a youth led organization in Kilifi called Power Action Changers(PAC). She is a leader, teacher, Mentor and youth advocate of AYSRHR. She is so passionate in advocating on issues that affect Adolescents and Young People in Kilifi county and Kenya at large. Her greatest achievement is  advocating for change in adolescents and young people health and well-being through provisioning of SRHR information especially the AGYW while influencing policies that will impact change.

Ayuma Leonidah

Youth Advisory Board Member

Ayuma Leonidah is a young SRHR advocate passionate in matters of Gender Based Violence, Mental Health and Menstrual Hygiene Management. She also doubles up as a peer educator and the current president of the Youth Advisory Champions for Health (YACH) Mombasa county. Currently, she spends most of her time doing mentorships for high school students at Wings to Fly program by Equity Bank and Life Africa under Jielimishe program. Being an alumni of the Wings to Fly program, she has learnt the aspect of giving back and she believes that through mentorship, lives are transformed. Ayuma is also

Malcomx Andrew

Youth Advisory Board Member

Malcomx Andrew is a YAB Board Member. He is also an AYP ASRHR advocate, an Event Organizer, Photographer & Marketing professional with 5+ years of experience in social media management, content marketing, and branding. He is currently the Team Lead for Maisha Youth, a network driven to promote positive youth action for a healthy generation. Some of his key advocacy achievements are supporting the AYP programs at the NACC, abstract accepted for presentation at the HIV Adolescence conference in South Africa, & Kenya Respectively. Abstract presentation at the ICASA Conference in Rwanda & a supporting member of the AfRika Platform under AMREF.

Betty Mtuweta

Youth Advisory Board Member

Betty Mtuweta is a member of YAC in Kilifi County. She is a mentor, peer educator and youth advocate on AYSRHR having taken part in local advocacy in Kilifi County. Her greatest achievement is advocating for the development and equipment of youth friendly centers in Kilifi County that can act as safe spaces for the young people and well-being through provisioning of SRHR information especially the AGYW while influencing the implementation of policies that will impact change in their lives at the county. Through her efforts she was delegated to represent young people from her sub-county at the County level on matters regarding their health.

Alvin Mwangi

Youth Advisory Board Member

Alvin Mwangi is a 24-year-old youth advocate who is passionate about Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) with a specific focus on Access to Comprehensive Sexuality Education and Access/Uptake of Youth Friendly Health Services. He is a volunteer advocate with Youth Empowerment Movement Kenya (YEM Kenya). Alvin was part of the youth team from Nairobi County that developed the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) Sexual Reproductive health and rights framework 2019-2021.  He received an award from UNAIDS as a result on his commendable work on Sustainable Development Goal Number 3 on Good Health and Well-being in a summit held in India.

Mercy Kwamboka

Mercy kwamboka is a volunteer in AYSRH from Homabay County. She is a Youth Champion, Youth advocate and she loves working with the community because they are the best creation in this world. She is a student at St. Brendan taking a certificate course in food and beverage. She is always passionate about giving back to the community.

Waithira Wambara

Youth Advisory Board Member

Waithira Wambara is a registered psychologist who is a mental health and sexual and reproductive health advocate focusing on girls and women. She is the director of Linda Afya Society that works to provide psychoeducation to young people on life skills, mental health and sexual and reproductive health and fights for change in the behavioral system.

Wilson Lore is from Mombasa education level Secondary and works as a Community Health Volunteer at Coast General Hospital (G.G.H) Youth Champion SRH and Champion on HIV.

Flavio Mutesa is from Homa Bay County. He is a student at Sigalagala Polytechnic pursing diploma in social work and he is an SRH Advocate and champion.

Euphemia Achieng Ochieng

Euphemia Achieng Ochieng is a youth Champion and a youth advocate for Sexual Reproductive health from Siaya County.Also elected as a youth Advisory board member from Siaya County.She is a graduate of CAPYEI youth empowerment Institute with certificate in Food and beverage. She likes working with the youths since they are the pillars of the Society and the nation at large.
